Ground Breaking for Rental Uniform Service
MILLS RIVER – Local officials and Henderson County Chamber representatives joined business leaders of Rental Uniform Service to celebrate the ground breaking of the company’s new facility, which is being developed by Cooper Construction in Mills River, NC. Mills River Town Manager Jeff Wells and Henderson County Chamber President Bob Williford kicked off the ceremony by noting their desire to attract good businesses and build relationships. “We appreciate Rental Uniform Service choosing to make Henderson County its home,” said Williford. His sentiment was echoed by Wells, who stated, “Mills River is a wonderful place to live, work, and do business. We are pleased that Rental Uniform Service has chosen to become part of our community.”
Rental Uniform Service’s new facility on Boylston Hwy is the result of the company’s continued growth. Headquartered in North Carolina, the company is a certified woman-owned business, employing over 200 people. North Carolina, South Carolina, eastern Tennessee, and northern Georgia make up the regional footprint for the company, which was founded by James E. Waggoner in 1949. Waggoner’s grandson and company CEO Danny Lawrence said, “We are proud of our history and the fact that we have made superior customer service the foundation of our business growth. We work diligently to develop and maintain long-term relationships with our customers. Because we’re a private, family-owned business, we’re able to focus on superior customer service and innovation, rather than our actions being dictated by the latest stock market trends. That’s why we’ve grown consistently and that’s why we’re here today breaking ground for this new facility.”
Director of Corporate Development Robert King spoke about the company’s innovation. “Our business owes a portion of its success and growth to our willingness to innovate and institute technology that further improves our customers’ service experience. One example is our recent one million dollar investment in our state of the art SmartChip RFID sorting system. This new system allows us to deliver an incomparable level of performance, accuracy, and service for our customers.”
Rental Uniform Service chose Mills River and Henderson County for the new facility after a 2 year search. “We’re excited to be here,” stated King. “Our search was extensive, and we felt that our business presence was genuinely valued by the community here. Logistically, we will be well-positioned to support our continued growth. It’s rewarding that our business growth has necessitated a larger facility. Henderson County and Mills River have proven to be very supportive and encouraging, and we believe we have found a good home.”
