26,670 SF Dealership, 2,500 SF Repair Garage
Cooper Construction built the dealership for Boyd Chevrolet, Cadillac and Buick at 1875 Spartanburg Highway in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
Boyd has been in Hendersonville since 1932, when the family opened as a Pontiac dealership. Cadillac followed in 1948 and Buick in 1960, and it was adding Chevrolet that finally forced the move. "Once we brought on Chevrolet we needed more space," Les Boyd told the Hendersonville Lightning in 2012, announcing the new dealership on a ten acre parcel.
The old building was demolished to make room for it. Cooper laid the parking areas and put in the underground utilities, and the dealership opened in 2013 at 26,670 square feet. Boyd's other priority was local: "Our biggest goal was to do as much as possible with local people."
Cooper came back later for a service building next door.
Cooper also holds the dealership's HVAC, and returned in 2024 to set Trane equipment with new venting, louvers and vents.
