Cooper Construction has provided design-build services for several buildings at the award winning Stone Ashe Vineyards. The original barn is an award-winning 2,000 SF design-build, the tasting room at the vineyard is a 3,047 building that overlooks their incredible property, and Cooper Construction is providing design-build services for a new 4,240 square foot production facility for Stone Ashe Vineyards.

Stone Ashe Vineyard is a winery located just outside of Hendersonville, NC. This project used both pre-engineered and conventional construction for a budget-conscious yet beautiful structure. Rough-sawn local pine and metal were paired together for an industrial yet earthy facade to provide the modern exterior with the warmth that the owner desired.

Varco-Pruden recognized this project in their 2018 Hall of Fame Awards as the Agriculture & Food Processing category winner. The highly competitive Hall of Fame Awards are presented annually to the independent authorized VP builders whose work reflects innovation and excellence through the integration of VP building systems, products, architectural appearance, end use, and design. The projects include a range of industrial, commercial, retail, and municipal projects.

Cooper Construction also performed HVAC services for Stone Ashe Vineyards. The HVAC scope involved the installation of a combination system that included both ducted and ductless technology for effective climate control. It featured a Goodman 5-ton system with a high-efficiency horizontal gas furnace (90% AFUE) and a 100,000 BTU output, alongside a matching 5-ton evaporator coil and single-phase air conditioning unit for year-round use. Additionally, a Daikin 1.5-ton mini-split system with a ceiling-mounted cassette unit was installed for targeted zoning. The project included essential control components, such as thermostats and equipment pads for outdoor units, providing efficient heating with natural gas and centralized cooling, complemented by the mini-split for additional zoning flexibility.

Stone Ashe Vineyards was honored as the #1 Best New Winery in the United States award in USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice Contest in 2022. The vineyard sits at 2,700 foot elevation and overlooks the scenic blue ridge mountains where it calls home. This provides the ideal place to produce their award winning wines and an ideal place for visitors to sit and enjoy a glass.
