Cooper Construction has built three buildings at Stone Ashe Vineyard outside Hendersonville, North Carolina.

The barn came first, 2,000 square feet in 2017. It mixes pre-engineered and conventional construction, which was the way to hold the budget without giving up the building the owner wanted, and pairs rough-sawn local pine with metal for a facade that reads industrial and warm at once. Varco-Pruden named it the Agriculture and Food Processing winner in its 2018 Hall of Fame Awards.

The 3,047 square foot tasting room followed in April 2020 and a 4,240 square foot production facility in September 2024. Cooper installed the HVAC on both: a 5 ton air conditioner with a gas furnace and a 2 ton Daikin cassette on the earlier work, then unit heaters, an electric wall heater, a ductless system, exhaust fans and gas piping for the production building and server room. Cooper came back in 2025 for drainage remediation across the site.

The vineyard sits at 2,700 feet looking over the Blue Ridge. In 2022 USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice named Stone Ashe the number one new winery in the United States.
