Van Wingerden International has trusted Cooper Construction over the decades for construction of agricultural production and distribution facilities throughout Western North Carolina. Our relationship began in the late 1980s with a 191,700 square-foot shipping and production building, followed by a boiler house. Both projects were completed smoothly, building the trust that continues today.

In the early 1990s, fire destroyed Van Wingerden's shipping barn. We responded immediately—arriving while smoke was still rising—and managed the emergency cleanup and rebuild. Working closely with their team, we designed and delivered a complete replacement facility in just over four months, ensuring they met their critical Christmas shipping season deadlines.

When a second fire struck years later, Van Wingerden called us again. This time they needed a complex multi-functional facility with offices, bathrooms, refrigerated cooler, distribution area with loading docks, pallet racking, and specialized production equipment space. Each zone had unique requirements, from specialized cooler flooring to custom equipment mounting. We listened, designed comprehensive solutions, and managed everything from cleanup to final handover.
