Cooper Construction built four phases of Tri-Hishtil's horticultural facility in Mills River, North Carolina, roughly 330,000 square feet in all.

The healing rooms were a very specialized part of the build. Two healing rooms, with insulated cooler panel walls over 10 feet high and manually operated sliding cooler doors were constructed. Each has split air handlers so that if one fails the room does not lose its conditions, which matters when the room is full of plants partway through a treatment cycle.

The first phase put up an 84 by 328 foot pre-engineered production building, 27,552 square feet, and a greenhouse of 113,695 square feet. Site work went in underneath: clearing, grading, catch basins, HDPE storm drainage and a retention pond, access roads, parking, and a truck loading dock with a retaining wall and a mechanical leveler. Over 2,400 feet of downspout piping runs off those roofs.

Two expansions followed, a 42,000 square foot four-bay greenhouse extension and an office and greenhouse expansion, each with its own French drains, walkways and storm drainage. Cooper ran gas piping, heaters and ductwork through the expanded buildings and upgraded the electrical service to carry greenhouse lighting. A further greenhouse expansion was completed in April 2026.

Cooper has held the mechanical work through all of it. Trane split system heat pumps with strip heat and Mitsubishi VRF split systems went in on the 2022 expansion. Since then Cooper has run greenhouse heaters, germ room fans, cold weather protection and further gas piping, and in 2024 put a Mitsubishi heat pump and air handlers into the healing rooms with remote controllers and sensors integrated into the existing master controller.
