Case Study

Sierra Nevada Transload Facility

Industry

Project Location

Mills River, NC

Project Scope

5,500 SF Logistics Facility

Cooper Construction built the rail unloading facility for Sierra Nevada's Mills River brewery, in Cane Creek Industrial Park, North Carolina.

A transload building sits between a rail siding and a truck, and it only works if the civil, the structural and the rail engineering agree with each other to the inch. Cooper coordinated the three through design and construction against the operating and safety standards the railroad sets.

Covered hopper cars pull up alongside it and the brewery's ingredients come off there. The building is 5,500 square feet.
