Cooper Construction served as general contractor for a new 40,200 square foot single-story church facility at NewSpring Church's Aiken, South Carolina campus. This comprehensive expansion project demonstrates the church's commitment to serving the Aiken community through enhanced facilities that support worship, education, recreation, and children's ministry in a modern, accessible design.

The new building includes a sanctuary for worship services, multipurpose rooms for various church activities and community events, a half-court gymnasium designed to accommodate up to 150 people for recreational and fellowship activities, and a dedicated KidSpring children's area specifically designed for the church's youth ministry programs.

A key aspect of the project was maintaining NewSpring Church's signature architectural aesthetic. The design-build team combined conventional steel construction with multiple types of pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) panels, strategically selecting different panel profiles and finishes throughout the building to match the existing architectural character of NewSpring's other church locations. This hybrid construction approach successfully preserved the church's distinctive look while delivering cost savings, faster construction timelines, and improved energy efficiency compared to conventional construction methods alone.

The single-story design ensures universal accessibility for congregants of all ages and physical abilities, eliminating barriers and creating an inclusive environment where everyone can easily navigate between worship, educational, recreational, and children's ministry spaces.

This expansion establishes NewSpring Church as a significant community resource in Aiken, offering modern facilities that serve both congregational needs and broader community engagement through worship services, educational programs, recreational activities, and community events.
