Project Scope

3,200 SF Tasting Room

Located on the rugged crest of the Eastern Continental Divide in Flat Rock, North Carolina, Marked Tree Vineyard is a testament to the intersection of agricultural tradition and modern design. Cooper Construction Company has been a proud, long-term partner in the development of this landmark destination, serving as Design-Builder for multiple phases of the vineyard’s growth. Our work began with the centerpiece of the guest experience: a stunning 3,200-square-foot tasting room perched between Mt. Pisgah and Tryon Peak. Designed to showcase award-winning wines against a backdrop of panoramic mountain views, the tasting room balances refined aesthetics with the functional needs of a high-traffic hospitality venue.

To support the vineyard’s expanding success, Cooper Construction also delivered a state-of-the-art, 13,000-square-foot multi-use production facility. This two-story project was engineered to handle every stage of the winemaking process, from the initial crush pad operations to climate-controlled aging in a specialized barrel room equipped with a Fog Master humidifier system. By utilizing a pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) framework and integrating custom industrial touches—including steel mezzanine stairs, food-safe flooring, and technical drainage systems—we provided a cost-effective yet sophisticated solution for the winery's technical needs. From the initial "barn" concept to a fully realized production powerhouse, these projects represent our commitment to helping local businesses grow through smart, durable, and beautiful design-build solutions.
