Project Scope

17,674 SF Refrigerated Warehouse and Cafe, 18,000 SF Cooler Upfit

Cooper Construction built a refrigerated warehouse and an employee cafe for Lipman Produce on Ridge Road in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

It was Cooper's second building job at the plant, where Lipman repacks and ships fresh produce. In 2016, Cooper turned 18,000 square feet of Lipman's existing warehouse into cooler space. Crews cut out about 5,700 square feet of the six-inch concrete floor and 415 feet of curb, then built the cold rooms that hold produce when it comes in and again after it is packed.

The new warehouse followed. It is an insulated metal building of 14,377 square feet with its own loading dock and truck apron, and it ties into the dock on the existing plant. The cafe is a separate 3,297 square foot building for Lipman's employees. Cooper also regraded the site and did the drive and gate work, and it handled design and construction under one contract, with Shamburger Architectural Group as the architect.

Henderson County issued the certificate of occupancy in March 2021.
