Cooper Construction built the replacement body shop for L&L Hill's Body Shop on Spartanburg Highway in East Flat Rock, North Carolina.

The paint booths are the hard part of a body shop. They carry their own ventilation and makeup air systems, and they set the environmental and safety rules the rest of the building has to be permitted against. Cooper held the design and the construction, so those requirements were settled early.

The building is 20,550 square feet on the footprint of the one it replaced, and it holds the offices and the customer waiting area as well as the shop.

Cooper installed the HVAC and the compressed air system. Unit heaters with B-vent, a 5 ton heat pump, six exhaust fans, combination motor starters and Reznor natural gas unit heaters went in, along with 2 inch, 1.5 inch and 3/4 inch air piping run through the shop to the working bays.
