Cooper Construction built the equipment sales and service facility for Hills Machinery in Mills River, North Carolina.

Cooper installed the site utilities across all 13 acres and put in the HVAC throughout every building. On a site this size the underground work sets the schedule for everything above it. The mechanical package was Trane 90 percent gas furnaces and high efficiency heat pumps with horizontal coils, a Mitsubishi 2 ton ductless split serving two wall mounted fan coils, unit heaters with their own venting, CO2 sensors and dampers, and exhaust fans. Cooper returned in 2023 for Building D.

Three buildings total 34,200 square feet. The shop building runs to 12,008 square feet and the office and warehouse shell is 130 feet by 80. Between them they carry eight service bays, parts storage and product support areas, and a cleaning and washdown canopy.
