7,325 SF Visitor Center Renovation
Cooper Construction successfully completed a comprehensive renovation of the Hendersonville Welcome Center, transforming the 7,325 square-foot facility into a modern, interactive destination that serves both visitors and the local community. This ambitious project involved a complete interior remodel designed to enhance the visitor experience while creating an improved work environment for the Henderson County Tourism Development Authority staff. The renovation included removing the existing second floor to create an expansive, open-air atmosphere that allows for better flow and engagement throughout the space, while incorporating cutting-edge technology such as an interactive media wall that provides an immersive educational experience about the county's diverse attractions and amenities.
The project strategically reconfigured the TDA offices and visitor experience areas to optimize both security and accessibility, creating new separate exhibit spaces to better showcase local attractions while implementing enhanced office security measures to protect staff operations. The renovation also establishes a connection between the downtown district and the popular Ecusta Trail, supporting the area's recreational and economic development goals. Exterior renovations included the removal of an existing patio structure and selective demolition of interior walls to accommodate new glazing systems that flood the interior with natural light and create better visual connections between indoor and outdoor spaces. The completed Welcome Center now stands as a flagship facility to promote Henderson County's tourism while providing a welcoming, informative gateway for visitors exploring the region.
