15,900 SF Renovation, 2,583 SF Restaurant
Cooper Construction renovated the clubhouse at Hendersonville Country Club in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
Members used the club throughout. The work ran from January to August 2024 and covered 15,900 square feet inside a 17,618 square foot building, 7,000 square feet on the lower level and 8,900 on the upper. The club bought it as a design-build contract with a guaranteed maximum price, so the number the board approved was the number that held.
The Grill was a separate job six years earlier. Cooper rebuilt 2,583 square feet of it: the existing casual dining room, a new casual dining and mixed lounge, the storage and service rooms behind the Ward Room bar, and the lavatories. A concealed brick exterior wall came out of the casual dining and mixed lounge, which meant shoring the building, pouring new spread footings and setting anchor bolts for the columns that replaced it.
The finishes were specified room by room. Hardwood in both grill rooms, quarry tile behind the bar, ceramic tile at the bar front and in the accessible restrooms, granite counters at the bar and back bar, knotty hickory floating shelves, vinyl tile in the storage rooms, and carpet only in the hall outside the restrooms. The bar equipment was the club's own.
Cooper performed the HVAC work on the renovation, with 122 pieces of air distribution, six exhaust fans and 123 register assemblies, and installed the bar package that went with it.
