Cooper Construction served as the General Contractor for design-build services to convert a former skating rink into a 13,675 square-foot campus for Hendersonville Church. The project encompassed the creation of a sanctuary, lobby and lounge area, classrooms, and offices for the church staff. 

The project required extensive work within the existing preengineered metal building, including modifications to the PEMB framing and exterior wall panels to create new openings, roofing repairs, gutter and exterior trim replacement, and installation of a 9,300 SF roof deck insulation system.

Inside, finishes were carefully coordinated to balance the congregation's aesthetic vision with the structural realities of the existing building. Custom storefront glazing with a black Kynar finish welcomes guests into a space featuring level 4 drywall throughout, LVT and carpet tile flooring, solid oak stage flooring, and approximately 3,500 SF of acoustical ceiling grid.

Mechanical and electrical systems were designed and installed from the ground up within the existing shell — a complete new HVAC system, full plumbing rough-in and fixture installation, under-slab drainage rework, a new addressable fire alarm system, and full electrical distribution.

The result is a complete worship campus — sanctuary, lobby, classrooms, and staff offices — built from a single existing shell, showcasing Cooper's expertise in adaptive reuse and full-facility religious campus buildouts. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our local church communities.
