2,260 LF Water Main
Booster Pump Station
Cooper Construction built the Fleetwood Plaza Water System Improvements for the City of Hendersonville. Summit Engineering Group was engineer of record.
The contract combined pipe in the ground with a building to run it. Crews laid 2,260 linear feet of new water main, 540 feet of 8 inch and 1,370 feet of 6 inch ductile iron with 350 feet of 2 inch HDPE behind it, and brought the line into service for customers who were already on the system. Thirteen gate valves, two fire hydrants, two tapping sleeves and five cut-ins tied the new main into water that never stopped running. Crews then patched 2,000 linear feet of road back over the trench.
The second half of the contract was a booster pump station on a steep half acre site in the Town of Laurel Park. Masonry structure, stucco finish, two domestic pumps and two high service pumps, standby power on its own pad, and a SCADA package to run it.
The lines were serving every user on the system before the building was finished, which is the order that matters to a city. Customers had water throughout.
