Project Scope

7,600 SF Upfit

Cooper Construction upfitted the cider production facility for Flat Rock Cider Company on Upward Road in Flat Rock, North Carolina.

The upfit installed domestic water piping to the boiler, burner, canning line and press, gas piping with two equipment hook-ups, a compressed air line running four user drops and three equipment connections, an insulated chiller loop, and a twenty ton heat pump on fabric duct.

The upfit covers 7,600 square feet, priced under the agriculture exemption and built to the owner's own drawings. Eighteen overhead doors open it: five anodized aluminum sectional doors glazed full height, twelve insulated eight by tens and one twelve by twelve, with dock bumpers throughout.

Flat Rock Cider picks its apples by hand from orchards in the county that grows more of them than anywhere else in the state. Cooper's office is two miles away.
