Cooper Construction built the production facility for Demmel AG in East Flat Rock, North Carolina.

Demmel AG is a German company working in industrial design and identity technology, and this building is its manufacturing base in the United States. What comes off the line here are automotive sill plates and emblems for customers including BMW and Tesla.

The building is 59,840 square feet with 20,000 square feet of office inside it. Cooper installed the HVAC, sized for a plant floor: 60 ton condensing units paired with 60 ton DX air rotation units carry the production load, with 3 ton and 5 ton split heat pumps for the areas that need their own control. Ductwork, intake and exhaust louvers and roof-mounted fans distribute it, all insulated against condensation.

Cooper has been back for the mechanical work since, including the machine exhaust, with spiral duct, backdraft dampers and storm collars through the roof.
