Cooper Construction is proud to have completed construction of the new Wellness Center and Administrative Offices for Christ School, a private boys' preparatory school in Arden, NC. The existing building, originally built in the 1930s as a one-story dormitory, was demolished due to its unstable structural condition.

The new Wellness Center features approximately 4,890 square feet of heated space, The new center features a 768 square foot outdoor patio that is surrounded by stone retaining walls and finished with concrete pavers.

Designed as Type VB construction, the new building utilizes concrete, stone, metal trusses, and prefabricated wood trusses, with a screened area for mechanical units on the roof. The pitched roofs have asphalt shingles, and the central low-slope roof will features a TPO membrane. Walls are clad in a blend of salvaged and new stone, while windows and doors are wood-clad aluminum.

The HVAC system is gas-fired forced air, with air conditioning provided by package units on the roof. Plumbing and electrical systems were upgraded throughout. The scope of work included selective demolition, grading, foundation work, roofing, and complete installation of all systems throughout.
