New Dental Facility

Cooper Construction built a new dental facility for Blue Ridge Health, the community health center, at US 64 East and Howard Gap Road near Hendersonville, North Carolina. The owner was the Blue Ridge Community Health Service Foundation.

It was a new building on a steel frame. As the roof came together, Cooper found that the peak as drawn sat too low for the heating and cooling equipment that had to fit under it, and for the height the building code required. Cooper worked out a higher roof line with the truss maker and took the truss drawings to the architect.

The Foundation added one piece partway through: a two-story outside staircase with a canvas awning on the east side of the building.
