Cooper Construction built the construction equipment dealership for Ascendum Machinery in Fletcher, North Carolina.

Heavy equipment sets the specification. Floors are 10 inches thick with steel fiber reinforcing, the crane supports are structural, the service areas carry Class 1 Division 2 electrical, heating is industrial infrared, and the coiling doors are oversized so machines can be driven in rather than broken down.

The building is 30,500 square feet, a Varco-Pruden pre-engineered metal building with a 38 foot eave height, framed to carry two 10-ton bridge cranes and to be extended later. Eight service bays run off it, each with vehicle exhaust extraction, alongside a wash bay, parts storage with a mezzanine, a retail showroom and employee facilities.

Site work included heavy-duty paving, gravel storage areas, storm drainage and a lift station. Ascendum has carried Volvo construction equipment for over 65 years and runs this branch out of Charlotte.
