Project Scope

12,600 SF Addition

Cooper Construction is proud to have completed a 12,600 square foot addition to the Anspach Advanced Manufacturing School at Mayland Community College's Yancey Learning Center. This school specializes in vocational training, particularly in machining and design. Its aim is to enhance the supply of skilled engineering workers in North Carolina, meeting the needs of both regional and national employers.

A standout feature of the school is its three-dimensional metal printer, making Mayland Community College the third institution of higher education in Western North Carolina to have this advanced piece of technology. The training provided at Anspach Advanced Manufacturing School will equip the state with a workforce that has previously been lacking.

Graduates of this program will possess valuable experience in mechatronics, a manufacturing approach that integrates mechanical engineering, computing, and electronics, making them highly attractive to potential employers.
